Creating "The Value in Genes"

The mannequins arrived in pieces I needed to assemble.
Once put together, we shared our home with four 6'1" men in our basement.

The denim was applied to the mannequins using  craft glue.

Questions from the survey were reduced to three words and chalked onto the mid sections of the mannequins.

Both front and back mid sections were used to display the survey questions.

Working with denim scraps

It was important to  get the denim to adhere as tightly to the mannequins as  possible. I wanted the "jeans" to be viewed as skin more than as clothing the mannequins were wearing. The final display incorporates denim thread in the hands of the mannequins. Take a look at your jeans, notice that regardless of what color your jeans are, they all have the same orangeish-gold color thread. I wanted this to reference that we all have the same color blood.
